About Stories for Change
Stories for Change is dedicated to transforming donated books into vital resources that fuel educational access and community development. We believe that every book has the power to change lives, and by giving books a second home, we create meaningful impact for underserved communities. Our mission is to bridge the gap between those who have resources and those who need them most, fostering a culture of learning and empowerment.
Through our book donation and resale programs, we directly fund educational and leadership initiatives that expand access to learning, empower girls and women, and foster local leadership.
We partner with Leadership and Education Oaxaca (LEO NPF) if a donor needs a tax deductable donation. to ensure that your contribution creates lasting, measurable change.
Our Programs & Services
Book Donation Program
Donate your gently used books to give them a second life while supporting educational programs in Oaxaca, Mexico. Every book you contribute helps to fund initiatives that expand educational access and create lasting community impact. We can pick up your donation of 50 books. Please contact us a 1(872) 325 3888 to arrange pick up or drop off. Book drop off is available in Evanston and Palatine, Illinois.
How It Works
We accept donated books and thoughtfully resell them, giving each title a second life. Profits go toward nonprofit work in Oaxaca, Mexico that focuses on:
- Expanding access to education for young women
- Providing support groups and safe spaces for children
- Developing leadership in Indigenous communities
What starts as a book on your shelf becomes tuition support, mentorship, school materials, community workshops, and leadership training. A single donation can help open doors for someone else.
